...
Linda Scott

....1961....

Why haven't I told you?

I've told every little star
Just how sweet I think you are
Why haven't I told you?

I've told ripples in a brook
Made my heart an open book
Why haven't I told you?

Friends ask me am I in love
I always answer yes
Might as well confess
If the answer's yes

Maybe you may love me too
Oh my darling if you do
Why haven't you told me?
Linda Scott receives an imaginative musical arrangement from Hutch Davie for one of the hit songs from "Singing In The Rain". This is from Linda's first Canadian American LP "Starlight Starbright" - a concept album which included songs all referencing "stars". This album sells for premium collectors prices today.

Born in Queens, New York, Scott was still in school in New Jersey (Teaneck High School Class of '63) when she auditioned for Arthur Godfrey's CBS radio show in 1959. After having won a place on the show, Scott and other young performers became regular guests on the show. During the show's run, the young singer came to the attention of Epic Records, and Scott made her recording debut (singing as Linda Sampson) with the single, "In-Between Teen".

Though still in high school, in 1961 she signed with Canadian-American Records, which had struck gold with the Santo Johnny's "Sleep Walk". The label changed her performing name to Linda Scott, producing and releasing the hit "I've Told Every Little Star," a standard written by Oscar Hamme
