LaVern Baker "Shake A Hand"
LaVern Baker - Soul On Fire (The Best Of LaVern Baker)
[Lyrics to "Shake A Hand"]
Just leave it to me
Don't ever be ashamed
Just give me a chance
I'll take care of everything

Your troubles I'll share
Let me know and I'll be there
I'll stay close to you
Anyplace and anywhere

Shake a hand, shake a hand
Shake a hand if you can

Be truthful to me,
I'll be truthful to you
I'm in love with you so
Till I don't know what to do

THE AGE OF NORTHERN SOUL!
TRACK 11: LAVERN BAKER & JIMMY RICKS - YOU'RE THE BOSS (ATLANTIC 2090 YEAR 1959)

This video is done to the song Jim Dandy by Lavern Baker. It is one of the very first videos I ever made so be patient with it. There are so many wonderful clips from the different great movies of Buster Keaton to mention here, that I do not own, nor the song. Please leave feedback so I may improve and as always, Enjoy.

Some sources say this was released in 1960, others 1961. It is a great track written by Jerry Lieber and Mike Stoller(who also wrote Hounddog for Big Mama Thornton, the one that Elvis covered later). Great gospel scorcher.

An X rated version of their 1965 hit, Think Twice, done in the studio at the time. Very rude and very funny!

LaVern Baker duets with Jimmy Ricks on "You're The Boss". Recorded in New York City in November 1960.

Elvis and Ann Margret never sounded like this.
Here's a cute song for you.♫
