Guardando le foto-composizioni di Witkin ci si chiede subito: ma perché? Eppure osservando a fondo ciò che l'eccentrico artista di origine russa crea ci si interroga sul suo modo di concepire l'arte della fotografia. Spesso si pensa erroneamente che l'arte sia necessariamente infiltrata di una qualche follia e strano senso di mania. Ebbene, non penso che si sia artisti perché si è considerati un po' folli.
