Future of air travel: Airbus unveils transparent plane

Airbus unveils futuristic concept plane with transparent cabin walls

Aerospace company Airbus has unveiled its futuristic concept for air travel in 40 years' time. Offering panoramic views through transparent cabin walls rather than small aircraft windows, planes of 2050 may feature seats that mould to the passenger's body shape and use body heat to power holographic in-flight entertainment.

The concept cabin would be a bionic structure that 'mimics' the efficiency of bird bone, Airbus said in a presentation in London on Monday.

Airbus engineering executive vice-president Charles Champion said: "Our research shows that passengers of 2050 will expect a seamless travel experience while also caring for the environment."

"The concept cabin is designed with that in mind, and shows that the journey can be as much a voyage of discovery as the destination."oston, MA
